Inspiration: Caroline Wright and Miranda Scokzek

As I start the process of designing my home and summer collections, I stumbled upon two artists that I’m quite enamored with at the moment, Caroline Wright and Miranda Scokzek. I am appreciating the bright colors and gray/taupe backgrounds, they spell grace and vitality.

The first two pieces are by Caroline, and the rest are pieces by Miranda, enjoy!

Happy Friday everyone!

Spaces

As I work to finish my line for fall, I keep searching for bits of inspiration here and there. I’m addicted to peeking into people’s houses to see how they have designed their home-life, how they like to move through it, what colors and shapes they surround themselves with, and how they chose to categorize/organize things…or not. Every house is unique because we all have unique experiences, passions, and aversions. Its like being able to see into people’s mind/brain work. I specially like to stalk the spaces section on Design Sponge. Here are a few images that have caught my eye recently:

I agree…

I appreciate the clean and fresh feel of the stark white, lime green, and wood…

I have hung jewelry, scarves, and belts on branches…but never a lamp like this, hmmm, beware housemates!

: )

Bold and beautiful!!!

Special Corner

Thought I would share with you all a couple of things I’m very grateful for. I spend most of my mornings in this little corner of my house, getting back to clients,  disorganizing and organizing ideas, sewing colors and textures together, and playing music that makes it hard for me to stay still in my chair. I have grown to LOVE this corner. I know that no matter how hard the day has been, and no matter how sad or disappointed about something I might be, I can always come back to this little corner of endless of possibilities…

I also love the company of this little agave plant while I wash my dishes…

Hope you all have a great start of the week!

Never Too Late to Build a Garden

Hi everyone! Just wanted to share what I have been working on now that it is finally getting warmer in the bay area…

I have always wanted to build a garden bed  to grow herbs and a few vegetables I can use in my kitchen everyday. After a few years of mulling the idea over in my head, I finally decided to roll up my sleeves, put on my gloves and boots, and dive into it. My good friend Colin Miller has been guiding and helping me (if not doing most of the work…he is the one pictured below). Everything has its price, and I ended up stepping on a nail about a week ago, it was surprisingly not that painful, just shocking. It is all worth while though, can’t wait to see how it all comes together!
